One way that VR and gaming technology will help ADHD patients is with better diagnosis. In the past, paper tests and observations were used to determine whether someone had ADHD, but these took lots of time and were not always correct (Yeh 78). A reasoning for this mistreatment is the outside influences doctors deal with. Outside influences sometimes made the diagnosis incorrect (Yeh 78). With better diagnosis, doctors would find the right treatment or method to care for the patient the correct way. This would benefit the patients by giving them relief and by helping them to learn how to manage their symptoms more effectively. Better diagnosis allows ADHD patients to make more effective decisions about their personal health and lives.
