Treating ADHD using Virtual Reality.

In most recent studies, Virtual Reality became one of the main sources to treat patients suffering from ADHD. Patients suffering from ADHD can use Virtual Reality and gaming technology to not only treat their ADHD, but also prevent any future effects ADHD may have. The use of Virtual Reality and gaming technology has become a positive impact for the purpose of treating ADHD. Dr. Bashiri and her colleagues found the following benefits of VR treatment: “providing flexibility in accordance with the patients’ requirements; removing distractions and creating an effective and safe environment away from real-life dangers; saving time and money; increasing patients’ incentives based on their interests; providing suitable tools to perform different behavioral tests and increase ecological validity” (337). Just having one or two of these benefits would help an ADHD patient to fully recover or to develop some improvement.
